Real Wedding: Michele & Stanley 7/13/14

Michele and Stanley planned their beautiful July 13, 2014 Newport wedding from New Jersey. All I can say is that I just loved working with this bride. When Michele contacted me, she expressed her concerns about finding a hair stylist locally who would be able to handle the styling needs of herself and her bridal party. Her concern was that each person in her party, including herself, had ethnic hair, so finding someone who really understood her hair type, and keeping it frizz-free during the hot July weather (especially right on the water in Newport) could prove to be a challenge. After talking for a while and answering all of her questions, she felt that she found the right stylist at M.A.W.Beauty. Michele and I met for her bridal preview in early May while she and her fiancee (now husband!) were in Newport finalizing details at their venue, Belle Mer. She explained her vision to me, and I immediately fell in love. She wanted to go for a soft, classy, vintage look with lots of glamour. Her hair inspiration for her short pixie cut was from Nene Leaks’ wedding…a soft head of vintage finger waves…Glam! The colors in her wedding were very soft pinks and lavenders with lots of bling. We kept this color scheme in mind when it came to makeup and created a look for Michele using soft pinks, keeping the skin fresh and glowing. On the wedding day, M.A.W.Beauty Artists Felisia and Jeannette worked with me to glam up and pamper Michele’s mother, mother-in-law, and two bridesmaids, while I solely focused on attending to the bride. After we got all of the ladies ready, Jeannette and I headed off to Belle Mer to provide touch ups for the bride and bridal party.

Aside from the fact that I loved Michele’s style and vision for her wedding, this was actually one of my favorite weddings of the year for a few reasons. First, Michele is originally from Canada, so the fact that so many of her loved ones traveled across country borders to be there for her special day was really special to me. Also, Michele had recently lost a bit of weight, so I loved seeing her show off her new found confidence and sexiness. The way that she felt is truly how every bride should feel on their wedding day. Lastly, and most importantly, I absolutely loved the genuine friendship and love that she and Stanley have for each other. Just from hearing Michele talk about him, you can tell that they are truly best friends. Their love for each other and for God was so strong on their wedding day, and it was really just an incredible day to be part of.

Congrats to Stanley and Michele!
